About The Position

We are looking for a hands-on software engineer for our Qualcomm’s enterprise AI platform focused on knowledge retrieval engineering, agentic pipeline development, agent runtime management and agent powered applications. This is a fast-paced, execution-focused role involving rapid delivery of features, continuous iteration on pipelines, building new agentic solutions for business processes and integration of agentic capabilities into existing solutions. This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week). This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

Strong Python and Rust skills for data processing and application development
Experience with Search systems (Lexical, Semantic)
Understanding of ML fundamentals and NLP/embeddings
Hands-on experience with RAG systems and LLM-based applications
Experience building AI applications (including Agentic AI workflows)
Experience with API/service development (REST)
Solid understanding of Agentic frameworks (LangChain, Agno, etc.,)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Tracing/observability tools for LLM systems
Experience with Elasticsearch / vector search
Docker / Kubernetes exposure
Multi-agent systems and evaluation frameworks

Responsibilities

Work on enterprise-scale AI powered search and retrieval systems supporting various downstream applications and agents.
Design and improve end-to-end pipelines (ingestion → embedding → indexing → retrieval) with objective evaluation and test harnesses
Develop and integrate APIs/services/MCP/agent-tools to expose ML/AI capabilities
Improve retrieval relevance, chunking strategies, and embedding quality
Evaluate and debug search quality issues, hallucinations, and grounding failures
Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to deliver production-grade enterprise features
