About The Position

Delta Precision Components, LLC and its divisions of Delta Gear and Delta Research is a growing manufacturer of advanced gears, precision gears, shafts, splines, carriers, housings, gages and other components and assemblies for primarily the aerospace and defense industry. We are an AS9100 and ISO9001 registered facility. With over 40 years of stability and growth, we are looking for both Process and Manufacturing Engineers for our central engineering function. Our Engineering function is responsible for reviewing new jobs and previous jobs, processing them to properly run, and managing issues on the production floor and developing ways to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process. You’ll help streamline production, solve real-time challenges on the floor, and lead initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainability. Most importantly, you’ll work on innovative products that help keep people safe in the air.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree with course of study in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. May consider seven (7) years of directly relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Three (3) years experience in a process engineering or manufacturing engineering role, including an understanding of all aspects of process development and execution in the manufacture of machined components, gears and shafts preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills for problem-solving with technical processes.
  • Strong skills for interface and collaboration within Engineering and with operational teams.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend GD&T from drawings.
  • Able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Must be able to occasionally work overtime to meet project deadlines and support operational processes, including on weekends and holidays.
  • Strong competency in parallel and/or bevel gear manufacturing, including hobbing, shaping, form grinding.
  • Strong familiarity with process engineering software, such as SolidWorks and/or Kimos.
  • Technically competent with various Office software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing multiple projects simultaneously with a strong commitment to meeting all demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues, products, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the process for Gear production.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and other functional areas to evaluate and improve processes in manufacturing systems.
  • Review prior jobs to ensure future jobs are optimized and efficient.
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
  • Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of the production process.
  • Provide suggestions during quality corrective action investigations.
  • Work with manufacturing teams to develop cost-effective, high-quality production processes.
  • Provide inputs to the quoting process related to material specification and manufacturing process steps.
