About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking an Engineer 2 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. The company focuses on building cyber-physical solutions for mission-critical facilities and complex infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance is REQUIRED.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 2+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
  • Provision of SE services for physical security system and IT solutions.
  • Must obtain a Security+ within 6-months.

Responsibilities

  • Provides system programming and management support for large scale networking infrastructures.
  • Administers and maintains high-performance computer configurations, other systems, and peripherals.
  • Participates in system integration projects, system performance analyses, problem resolution, and system security initiatives.
  • Works with senior staff in the development of system management tools.
  • Works with other Company Departments to provide a comprehensive support infrastructure for a wide range of commercial, corporate, and governmental users.
  • Maintains system documentation and maintenance records and generates weekly and/or monthly summary status reports.
  • Spends four (4) to six (6) hours per week staying current on industry trends and available products and services.
  • Performs staging and setup as needed for project support and for self-instruction.
  • Works closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) that satisfy the customer's needs.
  • Researches equipment from a multitude of manufacturers to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
  • Works closely with the Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.
  • Suggests process improvements and cost savings to aid the Implementation Department for future installs.
  • Provides systems support for a large-scale, high-performance computing center, including the installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces.
  • Works with senior staff to monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined performance goals.
  • Develops and maintains systems documentation.
  • Provides designs for automation systems, including a list of quantities and types of materials used.
  • Provides user guideline documentation and manuals for user-end custom programs and applications.
  • Works within a lab environment, learning different IT and ESS systems.
