About The Position

TekWissen is recruiting an Engineer 1 Front End React for a fashion specialty retailer client. The role provides specialized Information Technology support for strategic business partners within the client’s Corporate Center. This is a two-month temporary assignment in Seattle, Washington, with a hybrid work arrangement and shift hours of 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM. The engineer will design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable user interfaces for modern web applications. The position calls for deep React expertise, strong UI/UX sensibilities, and the ability to deliver performant, maintainable front-end solutions in complex environments. Experience with Java services and infrastructure technologies such as Terraform, AWS cloud, and Kubernetes is a plus.

Requirements

2–3 years of experience in front-end or UI development.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with React.js.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
Experience with React Hooks, Context, and functional components.
Hands-on experience with state management libraries such as Redux.
Strong experience with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with backend services.
Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and lead UI initiatives.
Passion for clean code, usability, and user experience.
Comfort working in fast-paced, agile environments.

Nice To Haves

Experience with TypeScript.
Familiarity with Next.js or other React frameworks.
Experience with design systems and component libraries such as Material UI, Ant Design, or Chakra.
Knowledge of performance monitoring and optimization tools.
Experience working in large-scale applications.
Android Native experience.
Working experience with Java services.
Experience with AWS cloud, Kubernetes, and provisioning infrastructure using Terraform.

Responsibilities

Design and develop responsive, high-performance web applications using React.js.
Build reusable components and front-end libraries for scalability and consistency.
Translate UI/UX designs and business requirements into clean, efficient code.
Optimize applications for speed, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers.
Lead front-end architecture decisions and contribute to technical design discussions.
Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
Apply best practices in state management, component design, and performance optimization.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure UI reliability and quality.
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimation.
