Requirements

Bachelors of Science in Engineering or appropriate technical field
Up to three years of experience
Experience using 3D CAD software; knowledge of FEA systems
This position requires U.S. Person status as defined by applicable law for authorized access to data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, lawful permanent residents, and workers granted refugee or asylum status in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provides technical assistance to external customers, sales, manufacturing and quality, visiting customer sites when required, to ensure that the design needs of internal and external customers are met on a timely and effective basis.
Recommends material based on application criteria in line with existing functional guidelines and reviews material specifications to determine alignment between GT and customer requirements.
Generates and approves design proposals via Global Incremental Process and communicates alignments and/or misalignments with customer requirements based on our internal capabilities.
Ensures model accuracy, design documentation, drafting standards alignment, and/or testing requirements are met when generating or approving drawings for production.
Assures product quality by defining testing/qualification/validation methods aligned with application requirements; Clearly understands and communicates testing methods for finished- product and system capabilities to Central Engineering; Produces external facing technical reports as needed
Must develop a fundamental awareness of customer and industry technical requirements, and basic business acumen regarding the business impact of technical decisions
Supports the cross functional execution of established Corporate/Functional objectives and understands cross-functional interdependencies, seeking out input from business functions' representatives and other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion.
Assists with the analysis of returned GT products in order to determine modes of failure and areas of improvement to be made, and to advise team members on design changes and other product improvements which could be made.
Dispositions finished product submitted to the Material Review Board using existing department procedures.
Generates Work Instructions related to functionality of their department in alignment with industry standards and external customer requirements.
