About The Position

HOLT CAT in Irving, Texas is looking for an Engine Rebuild Shop Supervisor. This position is responsible for scheduling and prioritizing all work performed in the assigned area of responsibility; providing quotes for jobs and work order review for customer billing; customer communications; shop safety practices and compliance with shop operating policies. This position has major responsibilities to ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Knowledge of industrial natural gas and or diesel engines, tooling, including their designs, uses, repair, and rebuilding knowledge
• Knowledge of shop safety practices is required
• Ability to identify and define problems/goals, selecting and implementing alternative solution strategies
• Manage resources and contingencies and reducing performance deviations/gaps
• Demonstrate leadership in attitudes and behaviors that affective assessment, management, and adaptability required in handling situations
• Competency in strategic operational planning methods and practices, the monitoring and measurement of targeted goals, resource allocation and management practices
• Ability to direct, implement, motivate, and evaluate work environment for the purpose of accomplishing specific, targeted business objectives
• Ability to demonstrate specific business/industry job-related professional knowledge, skills, experience, and related performance attributes
• Interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with customers, vendors, own staff, and corporate executives to exchange information, influence and persuade
• Time management skills to develop plans for structuring self and others to attain maximum productivity by establishing deadlines, milestones, tasks, resources and achievement of goals and work results
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, approaches, and prevention to problems
• Computer knowledge and/or experience including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
• Minimum of 5 years industrial engine rebuild service and supervisory experience required

Nice To Haves

• Caterpillar engine design and repair maintenance repair experience is preferred
• High school education or GED, or trade school diploma is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Reviews monthly service operations branch statement to assess progress on department business goals
• Participates in the selection, development, and evaluation of service department personnel to ensure a high level of commitment and competence is available in our human resources
• Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
