About The Position

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. This is a full-time, permanent position with a schedule of 10+ hours per day (day shift), 5 & 2, with overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. The role is based at the shop located at 9175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB. Sureway is a Repair Facility, not a component exchange shop, providing technicians with a sense of ownership.

Requirements

Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with Red Seal – Off Road or equivalent
Must have between (7) and (10) years' Journeyperson experience
Off Road experience is REQUIRED
Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu components is REQUIRED
Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED
Full Complement of Hand Tools
Personal Reliable Vehicle
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Experience with CAT Scrapers is Beneficial

Responsibilities

Rebuild Cat, Komatsu engines
Complete overhaul of sub components
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
