About The Position

Segers Aero Corporation is seeking an Engine Mechanic to perform maintenance on aircraft engines, accessories, and components. This role involves working a 2nd shift schedule of four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, from 2 PM to midnight, with a paid lunch break. The company offers a competitive benefits package.

Requirements

Must provide and maintain personal toolbox in accordance with Segers’ Tool Control Plan.
Must be able to use large specialty tools such as torque wrenches, impact wrenches, hydraulic press and bearing pullers.
Must be able to obtain needed information and data from FAR’s, bulletins, and maintenance manuals to perform assigned maintenance functions.
Must be proficient in using a variety of hand tools, special tools, and GSE required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors.
Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiative.
Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
Must be able to apply common sense.
Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in English.
Must be proficient in company-specific software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs.
Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE.
Must have knowledge of precision measuring tools/equipment (dimensional and electrical).
Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses.
Must be able to hear running machinery.
Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally.
Must regularly be able to reach overhead.
Must regularly be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, twist and stand.
Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally.
Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions.

Nice To Haves

Experience in performing maintenance on components in an MRO environment is preferred.
A&P license or FAA Power Plant Rating is preferred.
Forklift certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance duties on aircraft engines, accessories, and components in accordance with SAC Repair Station Manual, SAC Quality Manual, Customer SOP’s, and applicable technical data.
Using AeroTrac ERP system and company internal paperwork, accurately document the completion of maintenance performed.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Safe operation of the overhead crane.
Complete and maintain Forklift Certification in accordance with company standards.
Correct and safe use of specialty tools, torches, and chemicals as directed.
Perform FOD (Foreign Object Debris) inspections, and toolbox inspections daily.
Works to production schedule as directed by manager/lead.
Communicates with manager/lead to recommend changes, such as equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement.
Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
Observe and practice all safety procedures and personal policies.
Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.
Maintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and/or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly stored.
Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harm.
Travels as required.
Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement.
Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.
Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
Works overtime as needed.
Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.).
Other duties as required.
