About The Position

America Makes is seeking an Engagement Manager to join their diverse team. This role is responsible for membership acquisition and retention, curating the additive manufacturing community, generating and leveraging ecosystem data for decision making, and working with the Industrial Base Integration Director and larger team on ecosystem expansion activities across the Nation. The Engagement Manager will play a critical role in delivering value to membership, the additive manufacturing ecosystem, and the larger mission. This role also involves curating and leveraging the NCDMM Alliance Partner network to enhance the additive manufacturing ecosystem and support the broader mission of NCDMM. The ideal candidate is collaborative, communicative, and creative, with a passion for additive manufacturing and customer service, bringing experience in stakeholder engagement, economic development, and growing ecosystems and communities. The team culture is innovative, creative, and fast-paced, requiring adaptability and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. A self-starter with high emotional intelligence will excel in this role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree is preferred) in Business or related field.
• Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in a membership / customer-service centric position.
• Successfully identified and converted customer acquisition leads through understanding and addressing stakeholder needs.
• Networking acumen to engage with members, stakeholders, and government partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder and partnership development programs, designed to increase engagement, drive mission impact, and grow ecosystem value generation.
• Relevant experience operating in a technology maturation and advanced manufacturing space.
• Self-directed with demonstrated ability to prioritize independently to meet deadlines and drive mission impact.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Passion for serving the nation and improving the U.S. global manufacturing competitiveness.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of how to support stakeholders needs.
• Strategic and creative thinking.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and continually improve the membership model to drive growth in membership numbers, diversity, and revenue.
• Develop an effective and efficient membership recruitment and acquisition process, including lead generation, lead conversion, and customer relationship management process.
• Lead and manage membership resources and processes, including the role of Senior Membership Coordinator, membership-centric tools, and content.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to identify industry centric gaps in stakeholder composition and develop plans to proactively recruit members to support the mission.
• Seek and leverage data sources to inform decision making of self, the larger America Makes team, and the additive manufacturing ecosystem.
• Grow and maintain an inclusive, diverse, and engaged team culture who is aligned around membership value generation and performance.
• Curate and expand the NCDMM Alliance Partner network, identifying and nurturing relationships with organizations that complement America Makes membership and drive collaborative impact across the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with the Communication and Event team on developing and executing the America Makes “convening” strategy and plan, driving stakeholder awareness of the Institute’s mission.
