The Engagement Associate serves as the primary front-line ambassador for the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, creating a welcoming, informed, and seamless experience for members, guests, and program participants. This position is holistic in scope, delivering knowledge and high-touch support across Membership and all programmatic areas-including Fitness, Camp, and Nursery School. The role demands tech fluency paired with a human touch, solution-minded thinking, and a collaborative spirit. The Engagement Associate builds lasting constituent relationships by understanding community needs, recommending tailored memberships and programs, resolving concerns, and driving customer excellence across every touchpoint. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years of direct experience in customer service, membership services, program registration, community or fitness center, hospitality, or administrative support required.
  • Fully computer literate with a strong capability to learn and master JCC database systems, sales platforms, and scheduling tools, and digital team messaging/communication tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience in telemarketing, sales, event environments, or community center operations strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Non-Profit or Jewish organizations or practices is welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver welcoming, multi-channel communication (in-person, phone, email) while maintaining lobby order, guest entry flow, and conflict de-escalation.
  • Provide high-touch support across membership acquisition, retention, product inquiries, pricing options, and facility tours.
  • Process class and event registrations, payments, and changes, manage customer service ticketing workflows, and coordinate schedule changes or transfers.
  • Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions, secure cash handling, accurate daily reconciliations, and general office workflow tracking.
  • Maintain CRM database integrity, participant records, waivers, and system updates with high accuracy.
