About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a System Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The position is to support the SP201 contract, namely the Coordination Program Area, with processing change requests to Electrical Data Requirement Interfaces. In addition, the candidate will conduct impact reviews on contractor documentation to see if SSP maintained artifacts require updates and attend program area meetings and/or other program meetings in support of the coordination program area. The ability to communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work independently without guidance is an imperative aspect of the role. The related work and industry experience of the candidate will also be evaluated.

Requirements

  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated Self-Starter
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
  • At least 4+ years of related work experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or have held a clearance within the last two years
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Understanding of detailed engineering principles and experience with Interface Control/Design Drawings
  • Knowledge of DoD Engineering Disciplines
  • Experience with technical presentations and customer-facing activities
  • Familiarity with Functional, Programmatic, and Technical Management knowledge area
  • Experience with various engineering tools / languages including PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS, 2D/3D CAD, and SysML
  • Experience with CDRL’s

Responsibilities

  • Providing engineering support, including updating interface documents from change requests.
  • Processing change requests to Electrical Data Requirement Interfaces.
  • Conducting impact reviews on contractor documentation to see if SSP maintained artifacts require updates.
  • Attending program area meetings and/or other program meetings in support of the coordination program area.
