About The Position

We are seeking a thoughtful and talented engineer to support the design of distribution generation projects. Candidate will utilize customer information, utility tariff and technical system knowledge to assess, select, design, and support the feasibility of behind the meter customer solutions. Candidate will also support the cost estimation efforts for projects.

Requirements

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in engineering or related roles
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related engineering field
• Business acumen, or minor degree in economics
• Desire to learn and ability to work in a team environment
• Sound understanding of engineering principles
• Problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills, along with ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Working knowledge of Microsoft excel suites and Computer-Aid Design

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide project cost estimates at appropriate stages of the project development lifecycle, applying industry best practices and support the development, review, and continuous updating of cost estimates templates, and methodology across multiple technologies and project types to ensure accurate internal project cost forecasting and visibility.
• Provide technical support for projects in the development phase, including feasibility assessment, and conceptual design of behind the meter energy solutions and evaluation of trade-offs of different design options. Ensure project designs meet customer requirements, deliver value-added outcomes, effectively managing risks, and maximizing project returns.
• Partner with project developers and business development teams throughout the development process, including participation in customer meetings and presentations. Provide technical expertise to help advance opportunities, address customer requirements, and support successful project progression.
• Prepare and coordinate technical documentation to support a seamless transition from development to project execution, with clear communication of all requirements and deliverables.
