In alignment with Microsoft values, this role focuses on cultivating an inclusive work environment and reducing stranded capacity by applying optimization techniques for space, power, cooling, and network. As a key member of the local Datacenter Operations team, the Energy Resource Manager (ERM) will be involved in the deployment planning and optimization of IT capacity, working closely with Electrical Engineers and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers. Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers Microsoft's cloud services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. The CO+I ERM plays a crucial role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies. By improving Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH), the ERM will lead retrofit efforts for legacy datacenters and capacity harvesting in the existing fleet. CO+I is committed to employee personal and professional development, offering training, growth opportunities, Career Rotation Programs, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, and professional certifications. Microsoft's infrastructure includes a global portfolio of over 200 datacenters in 32 countries, supporting over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. With a strong focus on environmental sustainability and optimization in datacenter design and operations, CO+I continues to evolve to meet business demands and maintain Microsoft's position as a world-class cloud provider.
