JMT is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual with experience in an energy-related field to lead energy project development, manage client engagement, oversee multi-disciplinary projects, sell JMT's energy design and support services, and collaborate with internal business units, market segments, service lines, and regional leadership. This role requires a strong understanding of current trends, funding sources, and market guidance within the energy sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience.
  • 5-10+ years' experience working in the energy field or on energy-related projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Professional Engineer or accredited energy professional.
  • Energy related experience – design and/or field related.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
  • CEM (Certified Energy Manager) Certification.
  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level.
  • Experience working with/for national and regional energy clients and Energy Service Companies.
  • Project management and business development experience.
  • Experience managing multidiscipline project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all project objectives for assigned projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Actively engage in sales and business development, with a focus on growing the energy market.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of technical practices, principles, and interrelationships within the energy market.
  • Act as a technical advisor and knowledge resource, training and assisting other team members.
  • Develop a team of subject matter experts.
  • Assist in the strategic planning process.
  • Establish client and project plans aligned with practice and market objectives.
  • Build, maintain, and diversify strong client relationships.
  • Participate in selecting project teams.
  • Manage team workflow for maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Engage in meetings, work sessions, and applicable trade shows.
  • Effectively communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with other practices and markets to maximize efficiency and customer service.
  • Manage and complete the project billing process.
  • Perform project management duties including project performance, accounting, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and managing out-of-scope work.
  • Collaborate with a group of peers who have input on significant decisions impacting markets and operations.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor direct reports.
  • Evaluate and anticipate knowledge and skill needs, ensuring appropriate project staffing levels.
  • Coordinate internal work activities to provide seamless client service.
  • Set team performance standards to meet company practice and market goals and coach team members to achieve high performance.
  • Hold direct reports accountable to meet Success Plan and team goals.
  • Manage subconsultants.
