About The Position

GridBeyond is a rapidly growing green tech energy company focused on accelerating the global transition to net zero by optimizing energy assets using AI. They operate internationally, supporting customers in maximizing value from renewable energy, demand flexibility, and storage. The MISO Market Manager role is crucial for shaping and executing GridBeyond's US market strategy, focusing on commercial opportunities, regulatory compliance, market access, and revenue growth. This role requires deep knowledge of US energy markets, regulatory frameworks, MISO ISO/RTO structures, and the commercial aspects of battery storage, renewables, demand response, and distributed energy resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in energy market strategy, market operations, regulatory affairs, demand response, battery storage, renewable energy, or related energy sector roles.
  • Strong understanding of US energy market structures, regulatory frameworks, and commercial drivers impacting revenue growth.
  • Experience working with US ISO/RTO markets such as MISO is required.
  • Knowledge of ancillary services, capacity markets, wholesale power markets, demand response, battery energy storage, and distributed energy resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that support sales, market access, and revenue growth in a complex regulatory environment.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to turn complex market data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytical tools would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute market strategies aligned with commercial objectives, US regulatory frameworks, and market opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and threats across US power markets.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market design changes, policy developments, and industry trends.
  • Translate complex market and regulatory data into actionable strategies for revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, guidelines, and standards affecting the US energy industry, with a MISO focus.
  • Monitor and assess developments from US regulatory bodies, ISOs/RTOs, industry associations, and market stakeholders.
  • Support the identification and management of market regulatory risks.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market rules and regulatory obligations for participation in US energy markets.
  • Support GridBeyond's registration, qualification, and participation in relevant US electricity markets.
  • Work with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to support customer engagement, commercial proposals, and market-entry initiatives.
  • Provide market insight and strategic guidance to sales teams.
  • Support the development of scalable routes to market for battery energy storage, renewable assets, demand response, and distributed energy resources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key market stakeholders.
  • Represent GridBeyond in industry forums, conferences, stakeholder meetings, and working groups.
  • Engage with strategic customers and partners to support business development and market expansion.
  • Produce market updates, insights, briefings, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to market strategy, commercial opportunity, regulatory readiness, and revenue growth.
  • Contribute to thought leadership activity by providing market insights and industry commentary.
