About The Position

ECLARO's client, a premier energy company delivering essential electric, natural gas, and water services, is seeking an Energy Engineer in Hopkinton, MA. This role supports Client Operations and the Engineering and Technical Services group, involving procedure and standard review, policy development, documentation management, training, technical writing, project controls, and maintenance management. The position provides comprehensive support for client projects, including the installation of various systems like feed gas pre-treatment, boil-off gas recompression, liquefaction, vaporization, electrical distribution, and instrumentation and controls. The engineer will coordinate and lead assigned efforts, operating in a multi-faceted role with responsibilities that vary based on business needs, directly supporting Operations, internal stakeholders, and external vendors. The Senior Engineer reports directly to the Lead Engineer.

Requirements

  • Experience working as part of an engineering, maintenance, technology or construction project team in support of Client, power, oil or gas plant construction.
  • Must deal with short time frames and handle multiple competing projects, assignments, and priorities.
  • Must be independently motivated and able to work without detailed direction.
  • Must support on site project activities, monitoring quality and providing feedback.
  • Must have a strong ability to interpret drawings and other technical documents.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the technical principles of thermodynamics, cryogenic processes, piping, instrumentation, controls, rotating machinery, hazard identification and other engineering skills as they relate to Client.
  • Very strong organization practices.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, effectively interfacing with stakeholders on a continual and frequent basis.
  • Skilled with MS Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint), MS Project, Adobe PDF, AutoCAD.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Petroleum, or other related engineering discipline, plus eight (8) years’ work experience.
  • Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Petroleum, or other related engineering discipline, plus ten (10) years’ work experience.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant work experience in mechanical, chemical, process, petroleum, or other related engineering discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Certification (PMP) is not necessary but preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, creates, and participates in meetings with respective stakeholders, staying informed of the status of assigned tasks and actively supporting business needs as required.
  • Takes ownership of coordinating the technical group's review of project documents as assigned.
  • Successful implementation of assignments, including planning, execution, development, engineering, and project management, in support of Client operations and Client capital projects.
  • Ensures all standards and documentation are in accordance with NFPA 59A, 40 CFR 193, ASME B31.3, and all other applicable codes and standards.
  • Supports the development of project budgets, estimates project costs, prepares bid specifications, and performs equipment analysis and selection.
  • Supports the development of new processes and equipment procedures.
  • Records information to ensure projects are appropriately documented for future regulatory review.
  • Ensures projects meet pre-determined objectives concerning quality, adherence to technical specifications, reliability, schedule, and budget.
  • Obtains, oversees, integrates, and coordinates internal and external resources necessary to ensure project outcomes are delivered on time.
  • Supports the Client group's Management of Change (MOC) process, collaborating with Engineering and Operations.
  • Coordinates and leads standard and procedure reviews to ensure Client processes are uniform and meet the highest quality standards.
  • Provides training support on varying Client topics, including standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Supports documentation management for projects and plant documentation.
  • Supports the management of Client plant inventory, including the identification of capital project commissioning spare parts, entry of those parts into the computer inventory system, and inventory coordination between logistics and Client Operations.
  • Supports maintenance management in the company's computer-based maintenance system as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
