About The Position

The Energy Efficiency Education Coordinator delivers Pre-K–12 energy-efficiency education curriculum in support of statewide school systems and teacher associations, while advancing STEM education initiatives. Most of the role is spent in classrooms providing hands-on learning, working with educators, promoting web-based learning, and hosting educational awareness events. The coordinator is the region’s primary contact for energy-efficiency education and supports career-awareness activities, including Careers in Energy Week, summer camps, and career events. The role also manages education and workforce-development projects, including Learning Power, and helps increase public understanding of energy conservation and pathways to energy-related careers. The position covers an 11-county area in Northeast Georgia: Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Jasper, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton. Weekly travel using the employee’s own vehicle is required, with mileage reimbursement. This is a safety-sensitive position and requires storm-duty assignment. The position reports to the Education Supervisor.
