About The Position

Eversource is seeking an Energy Efficiency Consultant for its Large Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector in Connecticut. This role involves working with large commercial customers to develop and implement energy-saving projects, helping them reduce energy costs and improve their bottom line. The consultant will lead customer engagement in energy efficiency programs, identify new technologies for energy savings, and collaborate with external stakeholders, contractors, engineers, and internal teams. The goal is to achieve energy-saving targets and contribute to lowering the state's carbon emissions. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days in the office per week, with flexibility based on managerial discretion and performance. Requirements

  • Requires ability to interpret energy efficiency / renewable technologies and services and understand their application.
  • Requires solid understanding of financial principals.
  • The ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Sustainability, Energy or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) plus years of relevant experience in engineering, energy efficiency, or the project management of energy efficiency services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, heat pumps, demand control ventilation, energy management systems, and air compressors preferred.
  • Experience and/or aptitude in customer service desired.
  • Experience and ability to communicate clearly and effectively through written correspondence and presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction to business partners, such as contracted vendors, and technical project expertise to customers.
  • Coordinates available resources for the procurement and installation of energy-efficient measures, strategies, and systems.
  • Reviews and approves moderately complex projects/programs requiring an understanding of engineering analysis/calculations, implementation strategy for new technologies, or energy simulation modeling.
  • Manages the integration of activities between the customer, program administrators, advisory consultants, and vendor/contractors.
  • Develops documents and plans necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of ratepayer-funded Energy Efficiency programs.
  • Ensures all projects and programs are accurate and in compliance with regulatory guidelines by reviewing project documentation and program applications.
  • Participates in the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses and energy savings.
  • Assists with the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for contracted services.
  • Facilitates achievement of energy efficiency goals by promoting demand-reduction initiatives to assigned customers/customer segments and/or programs.
  • Partners with Energy Efficiency colleagues across different sectors/channels, including Energy Efficiency Sales Account Executives, to set an energy efficiency implementation path and strategy for customer participation and program implementation.
