About The Position

ARCXIS is seeking an Energy Code Compliance (ECC) Inspector, also known as an ECC Rater or HERS Rater. This role involves testing HVAC systems according to Title 24 guidelines. ARCXIS is a leading provider of inspection, design, engineering, energy efficiency, and quality assurance services for the U.S. residential construction industry, with a nationwide presence. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be HERS Certified or willing to become ECC certified.
  • Reliable transportation is required to accommodate testing equipment and a ladder.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and state-minimum auto insurance.
  • Must be able to conduct multiple inspections each day.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle report.
  • Must have an attention to detail and perform work with integrity and concern for customers.
  • Must have the ability to send in reports via computer or smart phone.
  • Must be able to climb on high ladders and perform work in cramped spaces (attics and crawlspaces).
  • Must have the ability to work in both hot and cold conditions.
  • Must have the ability to lift heavy ladders and carry equipment heavier than 50 pounds.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to study and become ECC certified if not already certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous HVAC experience (Install or Tech) preferred.
  • Experience in plumbing, attic work, insulation, or similar preferred.
  • Ability to study and pass examinations related to HVAC testing.

Responsibilities

  • Test HVAC systems based on Title 24 guidelines.
  • Conduct multiple inspections each day.
  • Send in reports via computer or smart phone.
  • Climb on high ladders and perform work in cramped spaces (attics and crawlspaces).
  • Work in both hot and cold conditions.
  • Lift heavy ladders and carry equipment heavier than 50 pounds.
  • Follow schedules provided by the office.
  • Submit reports to the office via a web portal.
