About The Position

The Energy Center Manager works at Abbott Nutrition’s Casa Grande, Arizona manufacturing plant and is responsible for the daily operation of the Powerhouse and delivery of all utility systems supporting site operations. The role develops and executes site facility and utility capital projects, supports Energy Center operations with plant engineering guidance for related equipment and facilities, and manages utility operations and Energy Center personnel.

The position oversees the Industrial Pre-treatment Plant and treatment plant personnel, while supporting manufacturing operations and engineering in meeting production commitments, limiting unplanned downtime, and developing new processes. It also ensures that utility and manufacturing activities comply with applicable environmental, FDA, OSHA, GMP, and Abbott requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in a supervisor role.
• At least 7 years of multi-skilled experience in utility operation and maintenance, including HVAC, compressed air, electricity, instrumentation, boilers, steam generation, ammonia or chiller refrigeration, water analysis, chemical treatment systems, and reverse osmosis operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and direct Energy Center operations and preventive functions, including outages and shutdowns.
• Coordinate utility work with contractors, plant and division teams, corporate engineering, municipalities, and utility companies.
• Monitor utility performance and plant demands, and provide usage reports to maximize utilization.
• Supervise utilities and wastewater operations to ensure compliance with environmental agencies and federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support operations and engineering in meeting production schedules, minimizing unplanned operating downtime, meeting goals, and developing new processes.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements governing the manufacture of medical and nutritional products, including GMPs.
• Manage the Industrial Pre-treatment Plant and treatment plant personnel.
• Meet compliance standards including FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.
