About The Position

The Energy and Water Site Leader (EWSL) will be responsible for creating, supporting, and animating the energy and water progress plan to ensure effective management of the site's energy performance. This role involves analyzing energy and water consumption, managing and mentoring site leadership on energy and water programs, and guaranteeing the progress plan is met. The position is located in Louisville, KY.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including professional interaction with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering field (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • Demonstrated understanding of heat transfer, separation unit operations, and mass/energy balances.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy, and strong analytical skills to draw conclusions from datasets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of large demand energy equipment such as HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, Air Compressors, AC and DC Motors.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a roadmap and strategic plan of energy, CO2, and water targets and performance, aligned with Group objectives, and present the status to site management.
  • Facilitate a 10-year energy performance improvement plan for the site.
  • Follow up and document the implementation of annual actions from the site's roadmap.
  • Lead activities and workshops to improve water and energy consumption.
  • Guarantee the reliability of basic data for energy and water indicator calculations.
  • Analyze the relevance and effectiveness of energy and water maintenance plans, providing feedback and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain standards of energy consumption by activity and equipment type, reflecting plant production, flex, and baseline consumption.
  • Ensure water & energy meters are operational, metering levels meet analysis needs, and associated digitization of performance is in place.
  • Drive the site’s energy costs and environmental footprint to optimal levels by improving energy performance.
  • Ensure energy and environmental indicators are analyzed and reliable, and that site energy performance is communicated and understood.
  • Share documented feedback such as lessons learned, revised standards/specifications, and best practices.
  • Work in collaboration with energy partners to optimize contracts for energy supply, transformation, and maintenance.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of production and distribution of fluids to identify opportunities for energy consumption and cost reduction.
  • Support site activities to improve energy consumption and animate progress involving all employees through steering groups and MDP (Managing Daily Performance) production awareness campaigns.
  • Lead and participate in energy diagnostics at the site and support other sites.
  • Contribute to the establishment of consumption standards.
  • Model the energy flows and consumption levels for the site.
  • Establish consumption standards by activity and type of equipment.
  • Apply energy expertise for diagnostics and assist in problem resolution.
  • Participate in the optimization of contracts (supply, transformation, maintenance, water treatment) through communication with Fluids and Energy buyers.
  • Animate the energy and water progress plan.
