About The Position
The Bismarck Tribune is seeking a full-time Energy and Business Reporter for an exciting opportunity in North Dakota's capital city. The role involves covering the state's unique energy landscape, which includes developments in the Bakken oil fields, coal (North Dakota has the world's largest lignite deposit), and wind energy, where the state is a leader. Emerging areas of interest for coverage include carbon capture and sequestration technology, biofuels, and rare earths/critical minerals. Additionally, the reporter will cover business news in the Bismarck metro area and across the state, including Bismarck's role as a medical hub with two hospital systems and North Dakota's emerging status as a hot spot for cryptocurrency data centers. The Bismarck Tribune is an award-winning newspaper known for its leadership in energy coverage and its willingness to undertake complex projects.
