About The Position

The Endpoint Support & Network Technician provides comprehensive support for endpoint computing devices, peripherals, and user-facing technologies while also assisting in the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of network infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, security, and usability of both desktop systems and LAN/WAN environments for administrative, clinical, and research users.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in technical support and/or network administration required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business information systems or other related field preferred.
  • A+ and Network+ certifications, Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA), or equivalent certifications, and/or ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, thin clients, and peripheral devices (e.g., printers, A/V systems, scanners).
  • Ensure proper integration of endpoints with enterprise systems such as file/email servers, VPN, antivirus platforms, VDI, and application environments.
  • Provide technical assistance to end users, including training and documentation on hardware/software functionality.
  • Utilize enterprise service management tools to track, resolve, and document service incidents and requests in alignment with SLAs.
  • Deploy and maintain network infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, and VoIP phones.
  • Monitor network performance, perform diagnostics, and assist with troubleshooting and tuning for optimal system operation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network infrastructure, configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Onboard new, approved equipment onto wired or wireless networks, including IP assignment and security integration.
  • Support end-user network software such as VPN clients and softphones; configure telecom features (e.g., phone numbers, voicemail).
  • Perform installation and maintenance of data and telecom cabling across campus and remote locations.
  • Explore LAN infrastructure to detect actual or potential performance or configuration issues.
  • Work cross-functionally with endpoint and network teams to resolve hybrid issues involving device configuration and connectivity.
  • Implement and adhere to organizational IT security policies and change control procedures for endpoints and network devices.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and assist as backup for service desk support when required.
  • Be available to work as scheduled and report to work on time.
  • Be willing to accept supervision and work well with others.
  • Be well groomed, appropriately for your role and wear ID Badge visibly.
  • Be in compliance with all departmental and institutional policies, the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and completes NetLearning by due date annually.
