About The Position

The Endpoint Migration Consultant provides hands-on technical support for an enterprise endpoint migration program transitioning Windows devices from an existing client-managed environment to Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune. The role supports endpoint readiness, Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) execution, troubleshooting, migration waves, post-migration validation, and operational documentation. The consultant independently executes established migration processes and resolves known or repeatable endpoint issues. Architecture ownership, substantial changes to approved migration patterns, and systemic solution-design decisions remain with the designated technical lead or architect. The consultant reports operational status to the Endpoint Migration or Command Center Lead and collaborates with technical and support teams across the organization.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise Windows endpoint environments and large-scale endpoint changes or migrations.
  • Practical experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Windows endpoint troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical runbooks and execute controlled production changes within defined change windows.
  • Ability to analyze migration failures, resolve known or repeatable issues, and escalate systemic concerns with complete technical evidence.
  • Strong documentation skills, including technical findings, remediation steps, validation results, and migration outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating across endpoint, identity, network, security, service desk, and application support teams.
  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11, Hybrid Entra Join, and Entra-only devices.
  • Knowledge of Quest ODM/ODMAD, Device Agent, Directory Sync, Device ReACL, migration profiles, and migration waves.
  • Knowledge of device enrollment and registration, user profiles, Group Policy Objects (GPO), PowerShell, and endpoint management fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of BitLocker, Windows Hello for Business, PKI/certificates, authentication, and endpoint security.
  • Knowledge of DNS and domain connectivity, policy processing, Intune registration, Windows logs, and migration logs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting migration waves, command-center operations, and post-migration hypercare.
  • Experience with enterprise endpoint migration tools and structured migration validation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Windows endpoint migrations using Quest ODM across approved Hybrid AD/Entra ID and Entra-only scenarios.
  • Support Quest Device Agent deployment and registration, Ready Device validation, ReACL, profile assignment, migration waves, cutover, remediation, and rollback activities.
  • Validate users and devices before migration, including identity matching, connectivity, BitLocker recovery, local recovery access, endpoint security, application dependencies, and target-service readiness.
  • Validate target Active Directory joins and OU placement, Entra registration or Hybrid Join, Intune enrollment, compliance, policy application, certificates, Windows profiles, network access, and critical applications.
  • Troubleshoot Windows, Quest, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Group Policy Objects (GPO), authentication, DNS, user profiles, device registration, and connectivity issues.
  • Monitor migration jobs, investigate failed or incomplete migrations, apply approved fixes, and retest affected endpoints.
  • Collect and analyze logs and technical evidence, distinguish device-specific issues from systemic concerns, and escalate systemic concerns with complete evidence.
  • Support production migration windows, command-center operations, hypercare, exception handling, and migration outcome reconciliation.
  • Maintain runbooks, checklists, known-error records, knowledge base articles, validation results, exception records, and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with endpoint, identity, network, security, service desk, application support, and migration-tool support teams.
  • Work with the designated technical lead or architect on design decisions and systemic remediation.
