About The Position
Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Surgical Technologist to support our Endoscopy Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a Full-time Days position, 40 hours per week. This position requires call and qualifies for competitive call differentials. As a surgical technologist in this role, you will work as part of the surgical services teams in the Endoscopy unit. The individual will assist the team during procedures, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons during procedures, and maintain patient safety. Throughout the day, precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are paramount in providing quality patient care.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience
- Less than 1 year Endoscopy Technologist Experience
- High School Diploma Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Nice To Haves
- Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES Program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program preferred NBSTA or NCCT, but not required
Responsibilities
- Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
- Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
- Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
- Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
- Call is required for this position.
