About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician supports the clinical team by preparing procedure rooms, maintaining and reprocessing endoscopy equipment, assisting with patient care activities, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment for endoscopic procedures. Working closely with nurses and physicians, this role contributes to high-quality patient care throughout the procedural experience. This position is with a busy, physician-owned gastroenterology practice with 33 providers. It offers hands-on exposure to patient care, procedural support, and clinical operations in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center and outpatient private-practice setting. The team emphasizes collaboration, respect, and support, with opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including prolonged standing and walking, lifting, and equipment handling.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for endoscopic procedures.
Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain endoscopes, instruments, and related equipment.
Assist with patient care activities under the direction of a licensed nurse, including patient identification and specimen handling.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment and maintain required documentation.
Maintain a safe, clean environment by cleaning procedure rooms, appropriately handling biohazardous materials, and following PPE and safety protocols.
Monitor inventory, unpack and restock supplies, and assist with coordinating supply needs.
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
