About The Position

This position is responsible for providing technical support and general assistance during Endoscopy procedures alongside nurses and physicians. The Endoscopy Tech is responsible for preparing equipment and procedure rooms for procedures.

Requirements

Technical support and general assistance during Endoscopy procedures.
Preparation of equipment and procedure rooms.
Assembly of instruments and supplies.
Assistance with biopsies or labs.
Maintenance, ordering, and stocking of supplies.
Maintenance of specialized equipment and instruments.
Troubleshooting minor equipment problems.
Answering telephone and relaying messages.
Wasting medications.
IV insertions (if applicable).

Nice To Haves

Successful completion of an IV insertion course (for performing IV insertions).

Responsibilities

Assembles equipment and supplies needed prior to procedures, including setting up instruments and preparing procedure rooms.
Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures.
Assists with obtaining, labeling, and delivering biopsies or labs with the RN or MD.
Helps maintain, order, and stock supplies for Endoscopy.
Ensures specialized equipment and instruments are maintained and coordinates a regular maintenance program.
Troubleshoots minor problems with equipment and notifies clinical engineering when necessary for repair.
Answers telephone, answers questions concerning procedures as appropriate, and relays messages in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
May be expected to waste medications per appropriate guidelines and processes.
May be expected to do IV insertions (if Tech has successfully completed an IV insertion course).
