The Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting patient care within the Gastrointestinal Services department. This part-time position involves assisting with patient transport, basic patient care during procedures, ensuring patient safety during electrocautery, handling lab specimens, setting up rooms and equipment, and communicating essential information to the healthcare team. The technician is also responsible for the cleaning and decontamination of endoscopes according to SGNA standards, performing high-level disinfection, testing and maintaining equipment, managing unit inventory, and performing basic computer and administrative tasks. This role requires a willingness to work with various exposures, be on call, and adapt to a fast-paced environment. The position recognizes and adapts to the needs of adolescent, adult, and older adult patients.
