The Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting patient care within the Gastrointestinal Services department. This part-time position involves assisting with patient transport, basic patient care during procedures, ensuring patient safety during electrocautery, handling lab specimens, setting up rooms and equipment, and communicating essential information to the nursing staff and physicians. A significant part of the role includes the cleaning and decontamination of endoscopes according to SGNA standards, as well as performing high-level disinfection of instrumentation. The technician is also responsible for equipment testing, maintenance, inventory management, and basic computer tasks. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including on-call duties, and the ability to work with various age groups.
