This role involves working 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, in the Endoscopy department. The technician supports activities in the care of gastroenterology (GI) patients and performs duties related to procedures under the direct supervision of the physician and registered nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with patient preparation, transporting patients, preparing procedure rooms, assisting the physician during procedures (biopsies, polypectomies), and providing post-procedure patient care. The role also involves cleaning and turning over procedure rooms, cleaning and disinfecting endoscopic instruments, and performing material/physical support tasks such as stocking rooms, managing inventory, and routine housekeeping.
