About The Position

This position is responsible for providing technical support and general assistance during Endoscopy procedures alongside nurses and physicians. The Endoscopy Tech is responsible for preparing equipment and procedure rooms for procedures.

Requirements

Technical support and general assistance during Endoscopy procedures.
Preparing equipment and procedure rooms for procedures.
Assembling equipment and supplies needed prior to procedures.
Assisting physicians with Endoscopy procedures.
Assisting with obtaining, labeling, and delivering biopsies or labs.
Maintaining, ordering, and stocking supplies for Endoscopy.
Maintaining specialized equipment and instruments.
Troubleshooting minor problems with equipment.
Answering telephone and relaying messages.
Wasting medications per appropriate guidelines and processes.
Performing IV insertions (if an IV insertion course has been completed).

Responsibilities

Assembles equipment and supplies needed prior to procedures, including setting up instruments and preparing procedure rooms.
Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures.
Assists with obtaining, labeling, and delivering biopsies or labs with the RN or MD.
Helps maintain, order, and stock supplies for Endoscopy.
Ensures specialized equipment and instruments are maintained, coordinates a regular maintenance program, and troubleshoots minor equipment problems, notifying clinical engineering when necessary for repair.
Answers telephone, answers questions concerning procedures as appropriate, and relays messages in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
May be expected to waste medications per appropriate guidelines and processes.
May be expected to do IV insertions (if Tech has successfully completed an IV insertion course).
