About The Position

Greets and assists patients in the Endoscopy setting; ensures the cleanliness and availability of proper supplies and equipment; assists in Endoscopy cases by handling and troubleshooting equipment. The Endoscopy Technician will assist patients, visitors, and families in a professional and helpful manner, providing accurate information and directions. They will maintain a clean and organized work environment, process work orders, and manage inventory of office and patient care supplies. This role also involves scheduling patient procedures, ensuring patient safety through proper identification and assistance, and supporting unit activities by transporting patients, responding to call lights, and transporting specimens, blood, non-narcotic pharmaceuticals, supplies, and medical records. A key responsibility includes checking the procedure room at the start of the day for proper supplies and equipment setup, operating and adjusting equipment, troubleshooting equipment problems, holding cameras, and assisting with specimen collection.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, 6 months of experience in direct patient care as a Patient Care Assistant or Processing Technician.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within one week of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and assists patients, visitors, and families in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Gives accurate information and directions to patients, visitors, and families.
  • Maintains clean and organized physical work environment.
  • Processes work orders and communication with EVS and Facilities Management.
  • Orders and maintains inventory of office and patient care supplies.
  • Schedules patient procedures.
  • Ensures patient safety through proper identification process and giving appropriate directions and assistance when necessary.
  • Supports unit activities by transporting patients, answering patient call lights and responding to patient requests.
  • Transports specimens, blood, non-narcotic pharmaceuticals, supplies, and medical records.
  • Checks at start of day to ensure the procedure room is properly supplied and equipment is correctly set up.
  • Operates and adjusts equipment.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Holds camera.
  • Assists with collection of specimens.
