About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the healthcare team in the endoscopy setting. This entry-level position involves assisting nurses and physicians in providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures.

Requirements

• No prior experience in endoscopy or novice level experience in the setting is acceptable.
• Strong understanding of infection control measures within the gastrointestinal environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the procedure room and sterile field to ensure a safe patient care environment.
• Gather and organize all required instruments and supplies for endoscopy procedures.
• Serve as a procedure assistant during endoscopic examinations.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed within the unit.
• Stock and maintain supplies to support the efficient operation of the area.
• Perform care and maintenance of endoscopes and related accessories.
• Complete all competencies for basic gastrointestinal procedures and scope reprocessing.
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols in the gastrointestinal setting.
