The Endoscopy Technician I is responsible for operating all department equipment in designated decontamination areas, performing manual and/or automated decontamination of scopes and instruments, and inspecting them for cleanliness and proper functionality. This role involves assembling and packaging instruments, maintaining documentation of decontamination processes, and assisting with special sterilization procedures. The technician will also participate in department meetings and educational training, assist team members with workflow, and adhere to policies for preventing the spread of contaminates. Additionally, the role requires competency in assisting with general endoscopic procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, specimen collection, snares, biopsy forceps, and dilations, including assisting with travel GI cases in critical care and OR.
