About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician performs assigned patient care tasks and other related unit duties defined and delegated under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse and maintains a safe patient area to deliver quality and efficient health care. The Endoscopy Technician participates in the daily plan of care for the patients in accordance with established policies and procedures. Functions as a team member in the Endoscopy Department and performs a variety of duties related to Endoscopy Patients and the daily operations of the unit, to include cleaning and maintenance of equipment, preparation and assisting with procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a recognized Nursing assistant (NA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical assistant Program required.
  • One (1) year experience in a healthcare facility working in a clinical area required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • One (1) year of prior Endoscopy Technician or Central Sterile experience within the last two (2) years preferred.
  • CER or CFER certifications preferred. If not certified upon hire must obtain CER or CFER certification within two (2) years from date of hire.
