About The Position

The Endoscopy Tech, Days position at Memorial Hermann is a full-time role responsible for assisting physicians in the operating room/endoscopy services under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role involves delivering appropriate care to clients according to the Endoscopy Skills Inventory, preparing supplies and instruments based on physician preferences, restocking supplies, maintaining endoscopy rooms, and assisting with patient scheduling. The position also emphasizes ensuring safe care for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies and standards, and promoting professional growth through continuing education and skill competency. The role requires demonstrating a commitment to compassionate and personalized care for all community members and modeling Memorial Hermann's service standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an Endoscopy Technician Certification Program or one year of equivalent healthcare experience required.
  • BLS (American Heart Assoc) required
  • Must be able to assist physician in procedure room, clean scopes, transport patients and be an extra set up hands on unit.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+years of Endo Tech experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians with endoscopy procedures as assigned by a registered nurse delivering appropriate care to clients according to the Endoscopy Skills Inventory.
  • Obtains and prepares supplies and instruments according to the individual physician preferences; restocks supplies, and maintains the endoscopy rooms.
  • Assists in the scheduling and rescheduling of patients.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
