Endoscopy Reprocessing Technician
About The Position
The endoscope reprocessing technician is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting lab equipment, including reprocessing all endoscopes. The technician assists with monitoring quality related to scope reprocessing and maintains high-level disinfection equipment and endoscope storage. The technician also serves as a unit resource on disinfection processes. ECU Health Medical Center is a 974-bed flagship academic medical center and primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. It provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation, and outpatient health services to a 29-county region.
Requirements
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education is acceptable.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of high-level disinfection and infection control.
- Knowledge of handling and maintaining high-level disinfection equipment.
- Good communication skills.
- AHA BLS CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- CBSPD Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor certification.
- Endoscopy experience.
