Requirements

High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience.

Nice To Haves

Endo/GI & Reprocessing experience highly preferred
Diploma from an approved Sterile Processing Program
1 year of work experience in health care, supply management, or operating department or procedure room experience
Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER)

Responsibilities

Provides assistance to physicians during procedures.
Clean and disinfect a variety of endoscopes and endoscopic accessories.
Monitor endoscopes and instruments to ensure they are performing at optimal levels.
Identify and label instruments for processing and high-level disinfection expiration.
Operate and maintain automated endoscope reprocessing equipment utilizing proper operating procedures and methods in accordance with manufacturers recommended parameters.
Follow policy procedures protocols and infection control guidelines.
Maintain patient data and quality control logs.
Oversee the care, handling, and maintenance of endoscopes. Inspects endoscopes and reports broken equipment to supervisor.
Clean the endoscopes properly, dry, and store instruments and supplies using proper stocking and storage techniques.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
