About The Position

Nuvance Health is seeking an Endocrinologist to join their employed clinical team of Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in the Norwalk area of Connecticut. This position offers a comprehensive range of Endocrinology and Diabetes care, including Transgender Medicine and Thyroid Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment. The role is primarily outpatient-based with some inpatient consults at Norwalk Hospital. The system provides access to in-office ultrasound, Certified Diabetes and Nutrition Education Center, Thyroid–Parathyroid Center, Metabolic–Weight Loss Center, and dedicated Endocrinology surgery and radiology services. There are opportunities for involvement in the medical teaching program, with potential for appointment to the clinical faculty of the University of Vermont College of Medicine and/or Yale School of Medicine. Nuvance Health is in the process of joining Northwell Health, a large healthcare provider in New York State.

Requirements

MD or DO with CT State License, Federal DEA in CT and CT State Controlled Substance Registration.
Completion of an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Completion of a full Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of Endocrinologist clinical experience.
Experience with Insulin pumps and Continuous Glucose Monitoring Devices.
Experience with Radioactive iodine therapy.

Responsibilities

Provide the full range of Endocrinology and Diabetes care.
Manage Transgender Medicine and Thyroid Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment.
Perform in-office ultrasound for thyroid biopsies (not a requirement).
Consult on inpatient cases at Norwalk Hospital.
Participate in after-hours coverage (light call volume, approximately one week out of every 7 weeks).
