About The Position

This opportunity is with a well-established, community-based hospital system located in Shelton, Connecticut. The hospital maintains affiliations with leading academic institutions in the region and offers access to advanced diagnostic and treatment resources. The endocrinology service line is supported by a multidisciplinary team including primary care providers, cardiology, nephrology, and nutrition services, ensuring comprehensive management of endocrine and metabolic disorders. The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Endocrinologist (MD/DO) to join its growing outpatient-focused practice in Shelton, Connecticut. This is a full-time, permanent position primarily focused on managing a wide range of endocrine conditions in an outpatient setting, with minimal inpatient responsibilities. The role offers an excellent opportunity to build a strong patient panel within a supportive and collaborative clinical environment. Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Residency in Internal Medicine
  • Fellowship in Endocrinology required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology
  • Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure
  • Strong clinical acumen, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary disorders
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient care with a focus on long-term disease management and prevention
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to coordinate patient care
  • Interpret diagnostic tests including hormone assays, imaging, and metabolic studies
  • Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, medication management, and disease prevention
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
