About The Position

Nationwide Children’s Hospital - Toledo is seeking a full-time physician to provide pediatric endocrinology care. The successful candidate will join a team that includes one full-time pediatric endocrinologist, a nurse practitioner, nurses, a dietician, medical assistants, social workers, and clerical support. The position provides inpatient consultation to pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists, the NICU, PICU, and Emergency Department, as well as general outpatient pediatric endocrinology services.

The role includes teaching residents and medical students. The physician will also have the opportunity to work with Diabetes Youth Services, a local nonprofit, to support patients and families and provide education. The candidate can collaborate and participate in educational conferences and meetings with faculty in the Division of Endocrinology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree, or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved fellowship program if applicable.
• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology.
• Eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Ohio medical license and unrestricted physician license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and diagnose medical conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with established protocols, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support diagnosis and treatment.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide education and support.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
• Provide inpatient pediatric endocrinology consultation to pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, the NICU, PICU, and Emergency Department.
• Provide general outpatient pediatric endocrinology services.
• Participate in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
• Stay up to date with medical advancements and research.
