About The Position
As an Endo Tech, you will assist nursing personnel to provide patient care according to department and hospital standards under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves assisting with pre and post-procedure care for endoscopy and surgery patients, including escorting patients upon discharge, patient transportation, room orientation, vital signs monitoring, connecting/disconnecting monitoring devices, and discontinuing IVFs under the direction of an RN. You will also assist physicians and RNs with endoscopic procedures, including patient positioning, preparation and delivery of specimens, performing biopsies and snares under physician direction, turning over Endoscopy rooms, setting up procedure rooms, pre-cleaning and disinfecting scopes, and cleaning rooms between patients. Additionally, you will assist with chart preparation for endoscopy and surgery patients, including chart assembly and acquisition of necessary forms.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
- One year (2080 hours) Endo Tech experience
Nice To Haves
- Completion of unit secretary course or prior experience
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
Responsibilities
