About The Position

As an Endo Tech, you will assist nursing personnel to provide patient care according to department and hospital standards under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes escorting patients upon discharge to their ride, assisting with pre and post procedure care of endoscopy and surgery patients, transportation of patients, orientation of patients to their room, taking vital signs, connecting/disconnecting monitoring devices, and discontinuing IVFs under the direction of an RN. You will also assist the physician/RN with endoscopic procedures, positioning of patients, preparation and delivery of specimens, and performing biopsy, snare, and other endoscopy procedures under the direction of the physician. Additionally, you will turn over Endoscopy rooms, set up procedure rooms, pre-clean and disinfect scopes, clean rooms between patients, and assist with chart prep for endoscopy and surgery patients, including chart assembly and acquisition of necessary forms. The schedule is 0.8 FTE with weekday day/evening hours plus weekend on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
  • One year (2080 hours) Endo Tech experience

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of unit secretary course or prior experience
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
