Encapsys R&D Intern - Year-Round
About The Position
Encapsys, now a part of Milliken & Company, is seeking student interns and co-ops for the 2027 calendar year to join their team in Appleton, WI. This is a competitively paid position for students in Chemical Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, Biology/Microbiology, or Chemistry programs. Encapsys operates in the specialty chemicals industry, holding over 75 encapsulation patents and leading in encapsulation technologies for Fragrance and Agriculture. They offer students opportunities to build resumes through projects that match individual interests and have a high level of responsibility with strong impacts on the bottom line. Students will work on collaborative and independent projects with engineer/scientist project leaders and be assigned a mentor for guidance. Research and development are vital to Encapsys's leadership in the encapsulation market, with ongoing investment enabling development of core competencies and business growth. Interns can expect to work 12-20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time during school breaks and summer.
Requirements
- Educational background includes individuals earning their B.S. or M.S. with at least a 3.00 GPA in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology/Microbiology, or Material Science/Engineering.

Responsibilities
- Designing, planning, conducting and analyzing lab experiments
- Partnering with engineers/scientists on Lab, pilot or production experimental trials
- Producing written summary reports and presentations
- Evaluating trial products
