About The Position

The Design Engineer is directly responsible to ensure product CAD design, drawing and math data integrity for current and new business opportunities. This includes feasibility/design review/vehicle assembly study and problem resolution, leading technical reviews for quotes, and acting as a bridge between OEMs and the company. This position may be co-located with the customer to support ongoing change management, overall customer satisfaction, and account growth.

Requirements

• Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin.
• Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.
• More than 1 years experience with automotive OEM's and/or Tier 1 Suppliers.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences
• Familiar with automotive glass product and material performance and automotive part production process.
• Familiar with 3D product design work and automotive part development process.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
• Diligence, honesty, effective time management, innovative thinking
• Familiar with process like Milestone/DFMEA/WARRANTY/VALIDATION PLAN/DTS/AAR REVIEW etc
• Careful attention to detail / detail oriented
• Willing to travel and work a flexible schedule
• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, etc.)

Nice To Haves

• Glass group experience, technology, design, quality or production preferred.
• CATIA / Teamcenter prefer, then NX

Responsibilities

• Responsible for feasibility study for each design scenario and design change.
• Ability for math file design software like CATIA/Teamcenter (both capable for 3D math file and drawing).
• Take part charge of quotation work, communication and technical clarification with customer for BOM list/design feasibility/cost impact etc.
• Taking charge for design change management from customer side to plant side including math file/drawing creation and transfer to plant and make sure plant is running in a correct way.
• Dealing with OEMs internal work activity and maintain OEM internal work procedure like Engineer change(WERS)/DFMEA/VALIDATION PLAN etc.
• Follow up the product assembly condition to the vehicle, make sure product design work is good, and use expertise to figure out solutions for different issues.
• Evaluate the encapsulated product feasibility with different plastic material like PVC injection/TPE injection/PU injection.
