About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring an EMT in Janesville, with openings also available in other Wisconsin locations. EMTs provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured people, within the scope of state EMS regulations. The company provides emergency and scheduled medical transports, as well as critical care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation.

Requirements

• Hold National Registry EMT certification and/or a current state license, or have one pending.
• Be able to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
• Have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Be able to safely operate a vehicle in varied conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
• Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, and drug screening.
• Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care appropriate to EMT training.
• Transport patients safely and efficiently, using map-reading skills to identify street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
• Assess patients and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
• Write accurate reports describing the patient's condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
• Complete documentation needed for billing.
• Keep the vehicle sanitary and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
