This posting is for High School Students in a CTE program. Applicants must be attending an Application Session with an IU Health representative. The position involves responding in an emergency medical vehicle to reported emergencies, nonemergencies, and interhospital transports across the East Region. The EMT provides efficient and immediate basic life support care to patients at the scene, enroute to, and within the hospital. This includes performing non-invasive procedures and basic life support functions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and bone splinting. The role also involves performing specialized life-sustaining procedures in a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service and is responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport of critically ill or injured patients.
