About The Position

This posting is for High School Students participating in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. The role involves responding in an emergency medical vehicle to various situations including reported emergencies, non-emergencies, and interhospital transports. The EMT is responsible for providing efficient and immediate basic life support care to patients at the scene, enroute to, and within the hospital. This includes performing non-invasive procedures and basic life support functions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and bone splinting. The position also involves performing specialized life-sustaining procedures within a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service, providing immediate emergency care and transport for critically ill or injured patients.

Requirements

  • Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security required, or must be nationally certified and able to obtain the Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment
  • Basic Life Support certification through the America Heart Association required
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
  • Requires Indiana State drivers license

Responsibilities
