Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current New Mexico driver’s license is required (out-of-state candidates have 30 days from date of hire to obtain) without relevant restrictions
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a driving record insurable per Presbyterian policy
  • Must possess and maintain a State of New Mexico EMT-Basic certification
  • Must maintain all required certifications (i.e. BLS, DOT certification)
  • Must be up to date with FEMA 100, 200, 700 courses
  • Ability to perform CPR and all skills associated with EMT-Basic licensure
  • Must be currently enrolled/accepted into a local Paramedic Instructional Program

Responsibilities

  • Join Albuquerque Ambulance Services (AAS) as an EMT-Basic and make a real impact in emergency medical care.
  • As an EMT-Basic, you'll deliver high-volume pre-hospital 911 emergency response and inter-facility transportation.
  • Documents and maintains accurate medical records for patient encounters through use of ImageTrend Elite.
  • Provides prehospital 911 emergency care and/or Inter-facility transportation for injured and/or ill patients.
  • Performs in scope BLS interventions such as oxygen administration, CPR, defibrillation, splinting, bleeding control, and wound dressing
  • Attendance at departmental staff meetings and/or in-service educational programs while keeping current with developments in the field.
  • Proactively utilizes best practices to minimize response and drop times.
  • Operates emergency vehicles in a safe manner, consistent with EVOC.
