This role works as a team member of the Special Events Emergency Team to deliver optimal patient care in the prehospital setting at customer venues. The EMT Driver provides assessment and appropriate interventions according to North Carolina OEMS guidelines and established hospital policy. They must be thoroughly familiar with and able to perform interventions at their level of training with all equipment and supplies at all prehospital workstations, including the ambulance unit. Key responsibilities include direct patient care at the Emergency Medical Technician Defibrillation level, supporting paramedics or nurses during patient transport, assisting with packaging and loading patients, and driving vehicles safely according to policy and law. The position also involves ensuring vehicle cleanliness and restocking, reporting safety hazards, documenting patient conditions and treatments while maintaining confidentiality, and maintaining necessary certifications, skills, continuing education, and mandatory in-services.
